BERNY

Berny, 21, comes from a small town near the Czech border. He works at a construction and building supplies company in another small town a bit closer to Bratislava, where he also hangs out after work at a skate park and practices his BMX biking moves.

When we first met up a couple weeks before the photoshoot, Berny’s arm was in a cast, but he reassured me that it would be coming off soon. Berny is a bit of a daredevil. He’s the kind of guy who falls and then gets right back up and keeps going.

Photographed in early October, it was my last outdoor photoshoot in 2022. The weather forecast was promising and it was +22C / +72F, although up on the hill, Berny had quite the goose bumps.
